Juries

The independent, gender-equal expert juries are composed of personalities representing a diverse cross-section of the music industry and scene.

All formally correct and complete applications are evaluated by the respective expert jury. Decisions are made in non-public, confidential jury meetings after the jury members have individually reviewed the applications in advance via the application database. All approvals and rejections are based on majority decisions by the respective jury. When evaluating and voting on individual applications, each jury member sets their own priorities, so that no single, overriding reason can be identified as the basis for a particular funding decision. Individual decisions made by the jury cannot be justified either publicly or to the applicants. Funding for the projects is awarded based on the jury’s recommendation.
