Webinar: SXSW 2022 – Festival and US Visa Information

With 2,000 bands from over 60 countries, SXSW is one of the world’s leading conferences and showcase festivals for the music industry – and in the midst of it all are around 20 up-and-coming and unique artists and bands from Germany. They are united by a shared goal: a breakthrough on the North American and thus largest music market in the world.
In this web seminar, SXSW booker James Minor will introduce the festival and give tips on how to apply. Afterwards, Matthew Covey from the nonprofit organization Tamizdat will give an initial overview of the complex topic of US visas.

The webinar will be held in English. Registration is required. Participation is free of charge.

Webinar: TikTok for musicians

In this workshop, Steffen Geldner introduces TikTok as a marketing tool for musicians. Digital self-marketing has changed fundamentally in recent years. While it used to be possible to grow quickly organically through good content, the marketing of music content has become much more complex due to algorithm- and data-driven platforms. With TikTok, there is (still) the chance to grow fast organically and without using large budgets.  After an introduction to the TikTok algorithm, Steffen will talk about the connection between TikTok and music, including the Sounds and Artist Page, playlists and targeting.

This workshop will also give participants a hands-on look at what content is currently working best on TikTok and how it can be used most effectively. Reach increase, hashtags and analytics are also part of this workshop. An essential part of the talk consists of presenting best practices from a wide variety of musical niches. The workshop will end with a walkthrough of the TikTok Ads Manager.

The webinar will be held in German. Registration is required. Participation is free of charge.
