Network

We love the music scene. Together with our numerous partner institutions at home and abroad, we work together to initiate and implement projects and funding instruments for musicians and music businesses.

National Partners

Together with federal associations and institutions as well as nationwide relevant industry events, we want to strengthen the structures for music culture throughout Germany. Constant exchange with the various interest groups is essential for our work.

Our Keychange goals
Keychange is an international initiative that has been working to promote gender equality in the music industry since it was founded in 2017. Its main goal is to support underrepresented gender identities in the music industry and increase representation and visibility. In order to achieve a 50/50 gender parity on stages and in all programmes, music organisations sign Keychange Pledges. Initiative Musik signed its pledge at the end of 2023, which includes FLINTA* (women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender) people.
Initiative Musik aims to reach the following goals by 2029:
  • at least 50% FLINTA* as part of the Initiative Musik staff, juries and supervisory board**
  • at least 50% FLINTA* speakers and hosts at Initiative Musik events
  • at least 50% FLINTA* performances by artists and musicians at Initiative Musik events
  • at least 50% FLINTA* artists awarded and funded through selected funding programmes (artist funding, international tour funding, Live500 as part of the diversity quota, cooperation projects of infrastructure funding) and awards (German Jazz Prize)
  • at least 50% FLINTA* participation in our co-operation projects
  • at least 50% FLINTA* musicians recommended to showcase festivals
**in accordance with the § 4 Bundesgremienbesetzungsgesetz – BgremBG (Appointments to Federal Bodies Act). Members of the Supervisory Board are not appointed by Initiative Musik’s management.
