This event is supported by Initiative Musik as part of the “Live 500” funding programme. As part of our funding requirements, we ask venues and promoters/organisers to submit proof of diverse and inclusive programming. This means that at least 50% of all performing artists out of all funded events must identify as one or more of the underrepresented groups in the music industry named above. We are aware that this list is neither universal nor exhaustive and that it does not cover all forms of discrimination. The aim of this quota is to capture real-life data on the participation of musicians performing on German stages, and more importantly, to promote the participation of all musicians; in particular, members of marginalised communities currently underrepresented on German stages.

The information must only be provided by the artists themselves. Due to the sensitive nature of this data, it will be processed anonymously and only by Initiative Musik in compliance with our Data Protection Policy. The information provided may not be published or shared with third parties.

Terms Explained:

  • FLINTA*: FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender people. The asterisk (*) is added as a placeholder for other, unnamed groups who do not identify as cis-male. Cis refers to people whose gender identity aligns with the gender they were assigned at birth. The term aims to draw attention to the fact that gender-based discrimination also affects gender identities other than women. (Source)
  • LGBTQIA* People: an acronym used to refer to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, intersex, asexual and queer people collectively. The asterisk (*) is added as a placeholder for other, unnamed groups (Source)
  • People with experience of racism or antisemitism: refers to people who experience discrimination due to racial or antisemitic prejudice in connection with actual or presumed physical or cultural attributes (e.g. skin colour, origin, religion).
